The Best Teams…

The best teams and organizations I have been part of all shared a few things in common:

  • People understood the mission.

  • They knew their role and were trusted to accomplish it.

  • They felt connected to something bigger than themselves.

  • And they believed their work mattered.

Whether in football, education, or leadership environments, I’ve found that people thrive when they are challenged, trusted, and given meaningful responsibility.

Apathy rarely comes from laziness alone. More often, it grows when people lose connection to purpose, ownership, and growth.

Great leadership is not simply about accountability or motivation. It is about creating environments where people care deeply about what they are building together.

People want to pursue something worthy of their best effort...
